Members are reporting text messages and phone calls from scammers claiming to be from MSGCU's fraud department; scammers even disguise these communications to appear to be coming from an MSGCU phone number. They are falsely claiming a fraudulent transaction has occurred on the account, then attempt to gather online banking credentials such as username and password, one time PIN, and/or complete credit/debit card numbers (with the 3-digit code on the back of the card) to "stop" the fraud. The criminals use the stolen information to log in to online banking and make a payment to themselves or make fraudulent card charges.
While you may receive a call or text from our fraud department for unusual activity on your credit or debit card, we will never ask for detailed account information such as your password, one time veritfication pin, the 3-digit code on the back of your card, and/or expiration date.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- Do not give out your account information, especially your Online or Mobile Banking password
- MSGCU will NEVER ask for your Online or Mobile Banking password or one time log-in verification pin, so someone asking you for either is trying to scam you
- If someone sends you a link to type in your one time verification pin, it's a scam. ONLY enter your one time log-in pin in MSGCU Online Banking or the MSGCU Mobile Banking app
- If someone contacts you for the above information, end the call, ignore the text, and contact MSGCU directly at (586) 263-8800 or (866) 674-2848 immediately
